Baking fun for your four-legged friend! With our simple recipe, you can conjure up festive candy cane treats for your dog in no time. The combination of spelt flour, oatmeal, and SmoothieDog provides a healthy base, while beetroot powder gives them a pretty two-tone look. These cookies are not only a visual eye-catcher, but also a tasty and healthy reward for your dog.

Ingredients

  • A bottle of SmoothieDog
  • 200g spelt flour
  • 4 tbsp oat flakes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 10g beetroot powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 355°F degrees.
  2. Mix spelt flour, oat flakes, olive oil and SmoothieDog with a dough hook to form a nice dough.
  3. Halve the mixture and knead the beetroot powder into one half.
  4. Then cut off two equal-sized pieces from each dough and roll them out on a smooth surface into snakes about 1/4" thick.
  5. Wrap the two snakes around each other. To ensure the dough strands are well connected, roll your two-colored snake again on the work surface.
  6. Cut off 5 - 6" long pieces and form them into your candy cane treats on a baking sheet.
  7. These now need to bake in the oven for about 12 – 15 minutes.

Please note:

Store them in a dry place or freeze them to make sure they don't get moldy.
